Weekly News 06/12/2026Proposed constitutional amendment on voter ID headed to the ballot | On Wednesday night, the Ohio House passed SJR10, already passed in the Ohio Senate, which will put the question of whether to add voter ID requirements—already state law in Ohio—to our state constitution. Legislatively referred constitutional amendment initiatives do need to go through the Ohio Ballot Board to have their ballot language approved but don’t need the governor’s signature. Governor DeWine can still veto this bill. Call Governor DeWine’s office at 614-644-4357 or 614-466-3555 to urge him to veto HB 472 because it:creates unnecessary barriers for eligible Ohio voters, especially those who are elderly, disabled, and live in rural areas introduces fraud and privacy concerns for voters provides no new funding to BOEs to implement & manage huge new system.
